READ BIO
I was born in Vallejo, California and raised in the Caribbean islands. After finishing my college degree, I went into teaching for 8 years. I have been studying education for many years and will continue to do so.
I've worked with students of all ages. I am very passionate about working with International, ESOL, and Special Education students. I am fluent in Spanish. Throughout the years, I have traveled and visited many countries in Asia, Australia, Europe, North and South America. On the weekends, I am currently learning how to surf, and I am also studying photography.
My biggest interest has been in writing Children's Books and have successfully self-published two of them. I am constantly looking for new ways to express my creativity and stay active. Throughout this journey, I am forever thankful for my husband Joe and my children Joey and Lucy. We really enjoy our time together hiking, camping, taking our dog to the dog park, driving our Jeep to the beach, and watching movies together.

Ashley Morgan
6-12 Grade English & The Arts Teacher
Our 6-12 Grade English & The Arts Teacher: Ashley Morgan
Ashley Morgan Hutcheson is excited to be joining Pluris Academy for the 2023-2024 school year. She has been involved in education for over ten years, and her experience ranges from pre-k to high school and beyond. She received her first degree from the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts in Washington, DC. After which she embarked on her arts education journey where she taught after school programming at a local theater in Georgia. She created, curated, developed and implemented age-appropriate, skill-building curriculum as the Junior Company Director at the theater. During the Pandemic she relocated to Florida and found herself teaching in the school system. She taught a year of first grade, and then moved into teaching Middle School and High School English Language Arts for the last two years. She is currently working on her second degree in Creative Writing at Full Sail University.
She loves teaching English and arts classes as she feels they both are fundamental parts of a student's education program. English skills ranging from grammar, spelling and vocabulary to literacy skills in critical thinking, analysis, and comprehension of simple to complex texts allow students the opportunity to explore the world around them and then better articulate their findings. The Arts, from theater to drawing, opens doors for more student expression and allows students to see past the limits they may set for themselves in environments that are safe and full of growth.
She is thrilled to be joining the Pluris team this year, and looks forward to getting to know each student and finding ways to reach them and get them excited about the arts and english in ways they haven't been as excited or interested before.
